Envoys of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria hold friendly meeting in Iraq

The ambassadors of Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria to Iraq hold a friendly meeting, amid a détente in Riyadh’s ties with Tehran and Damascus.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of an Iftar ceremony hosted by the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad.

Iran and Saudi Arabia reached a China-mediated deal to restore diplomatic ties earlier this month, following a seven-year-long rupture.

There are also signs that Riyadh is moving toward normalization with Syria as well.
