Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi has denounced some European Union officials’ interference in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic and said instead of defending the “thugs”, the EU should meet its commitments to the Iranian nation.
In a Thursday statement, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi slammed the recent remarks by the European officials, particularly by the spokesperson for the Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, as interference in the internal affairs of Iran.
He also advised the European governments to address their own domestic problems and turmoil in the first place, and try to remedy the widespread discontent that breaks out every week in Europe in various forms and has resulted in extensive losses and arrests.
“What should be taken into account about Iran in the first place is that Europe must be held accountable for reneging on its promise and failure to honour the JCPOA commitments, and for siding with the US’ bullying actions in the sanctions and economic terrorism against people of Iran, not the interventionist remarks and the crocodile tears in support of the thugs and those who vandalize the public and even private properties and places in Iran,” Mousavi added.
