The CEO of Iran’s Ports and Navigation Organization has said Greece has released an Iranian-flagged ship it had seized a couple of months ago in international waters.
Aliakbar Safaei said the ship has set off toward the vessel that had stolen its cargo.
Safaei expressed hope that the SOS operation will continue and the cargo will return to Iran.
Greece seized the ship that was carrying Iranian oil at the direct order of the US. Shortly after the seizure, Iran confiscated two Greek ships in the Persian Gulf, which forced Athens to free the Iranian-flagged vessel.
