Firefighters managed to put out the fire in an industrial town in Iran’s central city of Garmsar on Tuesday after 16 hours, the governor of the city announced.
Raza Khani said rescue and emergency teams were deployed from Tehran and Semnan provinces to tackle the incident that left 22 people were injured.
Two of the wounded had severe burns and were transferred to a hospital in the capital Tehran.
The situation in the Fajr industrial town on Monday was exacerbated after the fire spread to the fuel storage and triggered multiple explosions.
An investigation has been launched to find out the cause of the incident.
