A two-year-old girl has reportedly died of a heart attack after unknown assailants on a congested street in the Iranian capital damaged the ambulance of paramedics who were racing against time to save the child’s life.
The emergency medical staff, stuck in heavy traffic on Tuesday, was forced to move towards the express bus lane to beat the traffic when unknown assailants slashed two of the ambulance’s tires, according to reports.
A second ambulance was dispatched to resuscitate the child but it did not arrive on time due to the snarl-up.
The Legal Department of Tehran Emergency Center said an investigation is underway to find the perpetrators.
