Iran national volleyball squad once again defeated Brazil in a 2014 FIVB World League match, this time in Tehran.
Iran’s national volleyball team beat their guests, Brazil, 3-2 in the second, fourth and fifth sets (18-25, 27-25, 20-25, 25-17 and 15-9) in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World League at Azadi Stadium in Tehran on Friday evening.
This was the 3rd confrontation between the two teams in the last 10 days.
The two teams will meet each other for a second match in Tehran, which will be their fourth and last, on Sunday.
The Brazilians came to realize Iran’s power and were surprised in the first leg of their two matches against the Asian champions in Brasilia last Friday, when the Iranians were about to win their first match against their hosts, but eventually lost the result.
Brazil, who have won several world and Olympic titles, defeated Iran 3-2 last Friday.
In their second match in Brasilia, Iran thrashed the Brazilians 3-0.
From the 6 points in Brasilia, Iran gained 4 and their hosts could only win 2 points from the two matches altogether.
Iran had earlier lost two matches to Italy with similar 3-0 results.
