Iran’s Beauties in Photos: A Village with Three Churches

Khoygan Olia, a beautiful village in Isfahan province in central Iran, used to be the village hosting the largest Armenian population living in Iran.

The village, located near the city of Fereydoun-Shahr, is no longer home to those Armenian families as many of them have immigrated to cities and towns and only six families of two members are left in the village.

Khoyhan Olia is the only village in Iran that has three churches. One of these churches, Church of John the Apostle, is a historical structure dating back to Safavid era. The church was inscribed as a national heritage back in 2007.
