Alliance of Palestinian Forces Praises Iran’s Support

In a recent meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari, leaders of the Damascus-based Alliance of Palestinian Forces (APF) appreciated Tehran’s support for the Palestinian cause.

During the meeting held in the Syrian capital on Wednesday, the leaders of the Alliance of Palestinian Forces praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support for the Palestinian cause.

They also referred to the dangers and threats posed by the regional developments to Palestine and expressed regret that some regional states are supporting the Zionist-American plots to sideline the issue of Palestine.

Jaberi Ansari, for his part, referred to the main turning points in the regional developments over the past century as well as the ups and downs of Palestinian issue and said, “Today, we face a new wave of enemy plots against the regional nations and Palestine.”

“To find our bearings amid the current storms of events in the region, we have to draw on the regional nations’ resistance as well as the unprecedented successes of the Palestinian resistance groups over the past decade achieved after the victory of the [1979] Islamic Revolution.”

The meeting was attended by leaders of Islamic Jihad Movement, Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, Palestinian National Liberation Movement – Fatah Intifada, Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, Palestine Liberation Front, al-Sai’qa faction of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and Iran-Palestine Friendship Association.

Iran’s ambassador to Syria was also present in the meeting.

The Alliance of Palestinian Forces is an alliance of eight Palestinian political factions. The Alliance was created in Damascus in December 1993 by ten factions opposed to the negotiations that led up to the Oslo Accords. The Alliance calls for the liberation of all Palestinian lands.
